On May 18 Skidaway Democrats welcomed Saira Draper, Director of Voter Protection at the Democratic Party of Georgia, for a special ZOOM presentation.

Saira joined us to discuss SB 202 — Georgia’s notorious new voter suppression law that constitutes an attack on the fundamental fairness of Georgia’s election — from the perspective of state-level party leadership. Saira explained the manifold implications of the new law, enumerated the lawsuits and Federal legislation that seek to reverse Georgia’s re-embrace of Jim Crow, and outlined steps that we can take at the local level to mitigate the intended harmful effects of SB 202.
