Georgia’s new report on Medicaid quality, which came out more than a year late, says state officials will focus more on addressing health disparities in the public insurance program.
Georgia is one of only 12 states that still has not expanded Medicaid. This stalemate has left 560,000 Georgians uninsured.
The bad news is that Georgia’s national overall rank fell to 46th from 43rd last year; 49th in Access & Affordability from 46th, and 35th in Healthy Lives from 34th.
Hurrah! Finally, a good piece of healthcare-related news.
“Georgia ranks #1 in maternal mortality and #5 in infant mortality. Surely, we must make major changes to improve those statistics. There are third-world countries that do better than this!”
